MONTROI Celebrates Nomadism in Jabal Akhdar, Oman

MONTROI launches its latest campaign at the MONTROI studio in Dubai Design District which showcases the traditions of Rose Water and its invaluable properties in its purest form. Together with a group of MONTROI contributors the MONTROI team travelled to Jabal Akhdar in Oman in search of Rose Water. Located 3000m above sea level, Jabal Akhdar is the highest mountain the Middle East and is the source of the purest Rose Water. During the times of the Silk Route the most precious Rose Water was coming from Jabal Akhdar.
Roses are grown in fields in the mountains, where local families take care of them. The blossom which takes places for 3 weeks a year occurs at the end of April. There are no more than 2 hours between the petals are collected and the rose water is manufactured. The distillery process takes 3 hours, after which the Rose Water is preserved for use during the year.
